Louisiana leaders meet to discuss strategy

Published in Blog on July 17, 2017 by Convention Of States Project

You may have been wondering what the Louisiana Convention of States team has been up to since the resolution was rejected in the Senate earlier this year. Some thought we’d roll over and give up after what happened, but not this resilient team! We took it upon ourselves to hold a statewide meeting for every Convention of States leader to discuss our strategy for the upcoming legislative season. I’m happy to report that the meeting was a huge success.

Nearly two dozen leaders from around the state gathered in Baton Rouge to put together a clear path forward. We discussed Coalitions, Media and Legislative strategies. We discussed what we can improve on. We even provided training for newly initiated leaders. Our goal is build our grassroots support before the session begins, but we need YOUR HELP!

A group of us will be traveling around the state to spread the Convention of States message. We will be scheduling presentations in your local area very soon. If you would like to know when these presentations are, please sign up for email updates here. This will also allow you to receive regular updates about Louisiana Convention of States news going on in the state.

We learned one thing this weekend, and that is we wouldn't trade the team we have in Louisiana for any other team in the country. We have a great group of patriots.

We will continue to push forward despite what happened this past session. I have every confidence in the world we will pass the Convention of States resolution in 2016!

Similar meetings are being held in other states across the country! If you'd like to get involved, click here.
