Louisiana Call to Action

Published in Blog on July 17, 2017 by Convention Of States Project

Politics is a cesspool. And what we are facing now in the Louisiana Senate is reminiscent of that. After our passage in the House, we have run into some unexpected trouble in the Senate. While we are attempting to restore our God-given rights and our Constitution, some are looking to sabotage those efforts. Some Senate Democrats, including Senator Jean-Paul Morrell, have successfully pressured the Senate leadership to assign HCR2 to the wrong committee in order to kill the bill.

We are supposed to be assigned to Senate and Governmental Affairs. Instead, HCR2 has been assigned to Judiciary B; a committee deliberately designed to kill legislation Senate Democrats do not like. Why are they doing this? Because they want to keep the status quo of an out of control Washington D.C. This is a pathetic attempt by some Senate Democrats to change the rules in the middle of the process.

This is why we need YOU right now. We need YOU to call AND email YOUR SENATOR and tell them you want the Senate to PASS HCR2.

Below is an example of what you can say:

Hi, my name is [your name] and I am a constituent of Senator [name]. I would like Senator [name] to urge the rest of the Senate to pass HCR2, the Convention of States resolution. It has been intentionally assigned to the wrong committee by some members of the Senate in order to make sure the bill does not pass. An Article V Convention of States is vital to restoring limited constitutional government at the federal level and I urge Senator [name] to take a stand against the corruption that is taking place in the Louisiana Senate and to take a stand for the U.S. Constitution and to urge the Senate pass HCR2.

Who is my State Senator?

In Liberty,These are the times that try men's souls. If we want to reclaim our liberty and our country, we will need to fight for it. We are in a war of two ideas. One idea leads to an all-powerful centralized government that regulates every single aspect of our lives; where our God-given rights are constantly at it's mercy and are constantly under assault. And our Constitution is burned in the process. The other path leads to the restoration of our Constitution; to the securement of our God-given rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; to a nation where our safety, freedom and happiness prospers; to a nation where your children and grandchildren can grow up and live the American Dream. An Article V Convention of States is the path to the latter. I need you to suit up and to answer the call that our Founders knew one day would come. Thank you for joining with me in fighting for our great nation.
