Petition Address Update

Petition Address Update

Hello *|FNAME|* -

We need your help to get the full value out of the Convention of State petition you have signed.

Please take two minutes to utilize one of the following so our petition system can send your State legislators (Senator & Representative) a notification on your behalf that you’d like them to support our efforts at the statehouse:
Please either send me your full mailing address

Or please provide those details at: http://www.cosaction.com/address_update

Or please send me the name & District# of your state Senator and Representative (i.e., not those in Washington DC), using the ‘Find Your Legislators’ feature at the bottom left of this website if necessary (http://www.scstatehouse.gov/index.php)
In addition, Please take another valuable step by joining our mailing list by going to this page and signup to receive updates using the sidebar. This will keep you informed of our progress, make available to you an assortment of training opportunities, and most importantly, offer you an opportunity to make a difference for our country by engaging your state legislators on behalf of CoS.

These requests are time critical, since the engagement of state legislators will commence ahead of the 2016 legislative session that commences in the first half of January.

Alabama, Alaska, Georgia and Florida have already submitted their official paperwork calling for a Convention of States. Please let me know if we can include you in our mailing list to help South Carolina join these other leading states!

Hello *|FNAME|* -

Thanks for signing the COS petition.  Your help is greatly appreciated and will make THE difference in Texas.

Each person who signs our petition will make a difference.  If there are other members of your household who share your support for the Convention of States Project, encourage them to sign the petition as you did.  EVERY person who can understand and agrees with the petition can sign it – regardless of their age.

Here is a powerful story on our Convention of States website news blog from an American living abroad. And another story, written by COS Co-founder, Michael Farris on how Article V allows the states to throw off federal mandates.

In late October, Convention of States Senior Advisor, Senator Tom Coburn, was on with Mark Levin talking about the debt and how to fix it. You can listen here.

What’s going on in Texas?
1) Added pro-Article V plank to Texas GOP platform;
2) Texas was one of 37 states filing in 2015;
3) Texas House passed HJR 77, our resolution, 80-62 in May 2015;
4) Formed new relationships with good Texas legislators who support the Constitution and Article V.

Please let me know if you have any questions about COS, or need more information. The Convention of States project has two websites. www.conventionofstates.com is provide to educate and inform our citizens about our project and about Article V of our Constitution.  www.cosaction.com is our activism website and is a resource for our grassroots lobbying and activism.

*|FNAME|*, there is one thing you should know. Legislators don’t consider your petition valid without a name and full address. To date, more than 24,000 petitions have been signed by Texans wanting their legislators to support a solution bigger than the problem. We want yours to be included in that number.  Please go to this link and make sure your address is correct and complete

There are two other important actions you can take right now that will greatly help us keep you informed on our project.

First, please sign up now to receive TEXT alerts to your mobile phone. We will only text you when we have a very important CALL-TO-ACTION. Send this text "COS*|STATE_INITIALS|*" to the number 68398 (leave off the quotes). This will opt you in to receive TEXT Alerts when we need you to action related to the COS Article V Resolution.

Second, go to this page and signup to receive our updates.  We need our Texas supporters to stay informed about upcoming legislation and calls-to-actions.

Thanks again signing the Convention of States Petition!
