Next steps in Arkansas: call your Senator!

Published in Blog on July 17, 2017 by Convention Of States Project

The following is a message from our Convention of States team in Arkansas.

We won a major victory in Arkansas yesterday. You signed the Convention of States petition and supported this Constitutional solution from the start. Then you responded in MASS to our recent call to action, earning us passage in the House.

Now, we must shift into the next phase: passage in the Arkansas Senate, the last hurdle before we can join Georgia, Florida, and Alaska in sending this Article V application on to the United States Congress.

Arkansas can be the FIRST state this year to pass the Convention of States Project resolution that will call for a Convention of States limited to proposing amendments to the United States Constitution that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

So now, as we move to the next field of battle, we need your help again. Please contact your state Senator and ask them to vote with the founders, to vote to save our great nation from ruin. Respectfully, but firmly, tell them that you want them to vote for HJR1003 when it comes before them.

Please continue to pass the word about the Convention of States and recruit new patriots to our cause. The road to complete victory in Arkansas is going to be challenging, but we can succeed.

Stay tuned to your email and phones. We will keep you posted as the Senate committee begins discussion and throughout the entire Senate process.
