Counter the Invasion Part 3

Published in Blog on April 24, 2024 by Danny Bolden

Lack of law enforcement has become a critical issue in our country. Untold harm has been done by recent and current presidential administrations that have been derelict in duty under Article 2, Section 3 of the United States Constitution concerning the order that the president “shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed…”. Enforcement of border laws is presently non-existent. The United States of America cannot return to being a lawful country if illegal entry and residency is allowed. States must take action to secure the country.

Louisiana can lead the way by beginning the deportation process, starting with the sheriff of each parish enforcing the law concerning illegal entry into the country and therefore illegal entry into the state and parish. Each state can do the same until the country’s population consists of only legal residents. The cost incurred can be recouped through a surcharge on money wired from the United States to anywhere outside the United States. Statistics show that this amount would cover a significant portion, if not all, of the cost.

According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), the United States loses $150 billion per year in money sent abroad. This figure is from 2015 and is likely much higher now since illegal entry into the country has ballooned under the Biden Administration. The money saved through the removal of illegal aliens from every state would more than pay for deportation costs. In 2023, the nationwide cost for non-citizen education, medical, law enforcement, and welfare programs in federal dollars was $150 billion. This doesn’t include state costs, the harm caused by violent crimes of illegals, drug smuggling, terrorists and U S enemy border crossings, and the erosion of American ideals. With nearly 21 million illegals in the country in 2021, this comes to over $7,000 per deportation. In Louisiana alone, the same expenditures were $604 million in 2023. With roughly 150,000 in Louisiana illegally, over $4,000 is available to the state for each deportation.

There is plenty of money for deportations and border security through walls, personnel, and technology. The land of the free and the home of the brave is fast becoming the land of lost liberty and lawlessness, and the home of the helpless. A country that doesn’t guard its borders is not a country at all, but only a place where power brokers squander other peoples’ money and resources until there is no more. Louisiana and the rest of the states must not let this happen.

Convention of States is a counter to the lawlessness that is behind the invasion of our country. Its focus is to call a convention under Article 5 of the United States Constitution to propose amendments for bringing about fiscal restraint on the federal government, limiting its power and jurisdiction, and establishing term limits on its officials. Such checks on the unwarranted power of central government will be a leap ahead in restoring common sense border security and lawfulness to our nation.
