Missouri Committee Passes Convention of States Application Nancy French May 9, 2014 News Great news! Thanks to your calls and emails, the Missouri House Rules Committee passed the Convention of States application by a vote of 8-4. But we’re not done yet. The Missouri legislature is on a tight schedule, and we need your help to ensure both the House and the Senate have a chance to vote on HCR 41. Please contact Majority Floor Leader John Diehl and ask him to bring HCR 41 to the floor as soon as possible. His email address is John.Diehl@house.mo.gov, and you can use the sample email below. Dear Representative Diehl, The Convention of States movement is sweeping the country, and Missouri has a chance this year to join the fight. HCR 41 calls for a Convention of States to halt the escalating abuses of Washington, D.C., and limit the federal government’s power and jurisdiction. Please bring HCR 41 to the House floor as soon as possible. We need to act quickly. The federal government’s power grows by the year, but Article V gives us a way to stop it. Please help Missouri take the lead on this important issue. Sincerely, [Your Name] After you send the email, follow it up with a call! Phone: 573-751-1544 Legislative Assistant: Romona Wilkinson Don’t wait to get involved. Your hard work has helped HCR 41 pass two committees, and, with your continued support, I know we can pass the Convention of States application this year in Missouri.
