These are part time, paid positions. Compensation is $10/hr. Scheduling is flexible but applicants should be prepared to work between 10 and 20 hours each week, and must be physically present at the Convention of States office in Purcellville, Virginia during those hours. We do not accommodate working remotely at this time. Over the summer, more hours may be available.

Current Openings

Grassroots Intern/Assistant

The Convention of States Grassroots Department Intern will assist the Grassroots Directors however requested. Responsibilities will likely include:

- Researching and building national and state level coalitions database.
- Managing District Captain program in states without State Directors, including application review and appointment, day to day communication, and distribution of training materials and resources;
- Conducting calling campaigns to potential volunteers and friendly organizations;
- Assisting with special projects as needed.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate basic knowledge of the Convention of States (COS) Project and the Article V process. Applicants should also show enthusiasm and support for the goals of Citizens for Self Governance and the COS Project. Applicants should also have strong communication and writing skills and a solid academic record.

Intern/Part-Time Positions

Legal Intern/Assistant

The Citizens for Self-Governance Legal Department Intern will assist the full time legal staff however requested. Responsibilities will likely include:

- Researching and drafting memoranda on constitutional law issues, particularly as related to Article V.
- Drafting responses to common arguments against a convention of states.
- Assisting senior staff to prepare for presentations and debates across the country;
- Researching state and federal legislation on Article V issues;
- Proofreading and editing official COS publications;
- Data entry and analysis.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate basic knowledge of the Convention of States Project and the Article V process. Applicants should also show enthusiasm and support for the goals of CSG and the COS Project. Applicants should also have strong research and writing skills and a solid academic record. Basic experience or education in Constitutional Law is a plus.

Grassroots Intern/Assistant

Communications Intern/Assistant

The Convention of States Communications Department Intern will assist the Communication Director however requested. Responsibilities will likely include:

- Tracking and managing of all news stories related to the Convention of States Project;
- Drafting and posting articles on the Convention of States blog;
- Responding to comments on the Convention of States social media accounts;
- Drafting emails to Convention of States supporters and volunteers.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate basic knowledge of the Convention of States Project and the Article V process.  Applicants should also show enthusiasm and support for the goals of Citizens for Self Governance and the COS Project.  Applicants should have strong communication and writing skills and a solid academic record.
