COS Application Passes Alabama House Jordan Sillars February 14, 2014 Robert Kelly Our team in Alabama is working hard, and they reached an important milestone yesterday. The COS application passed the Alabama House yesterday by a voice vote. A voice vote is used when a resolution has such overwhelming support that an actual vote isn’t necessary. Alabama State Director Joseph Bryan Read was pleased with the progress in his state: “The Alabama Convention of States team is excited to see that the HR49 COS application passed the Alabama State House. We will continue to be vigilante.” The resolution will be heard next by the Senate Rules Committee, and you can contact these committee members by visiting this page. You can also visit the senate to talk to your representatives in person. “Alabama District 44 Chairman Terry Richmond is leaving Tuesday morning (2-18-2014) to lobby the Senate. All Alabama volunteers that are able will be encouraged to join him,” Read continued. You can contact Terry by visiting the Action Center, inputting your address, and clicking on the Leaders tab. If you’d like to voice your appreciation to the Alabama House members, you can find their contact info here. Want your state to follow Alabama’s lead?
