A Force to be Reckoned With thomas.barclay October 5, 2013 Laura Fennig “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.” I shuddered. The first time I watched the 1970 film Tora! Tora! Tora! and heard Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto’s famous quote, I knew the American people were a force to be reckoned with. We always have been. We always will be. I’m pleased to report that the sleeping giant is alive, well, and awake. On a recent trip to Washington State, Mark Meckler, Pam Wohschlegel, and myself were greeted by a determined group of patriots. We attended the Washington Freedom Summit in Spokane Valley, WA, a gathering of 150 tea party leaders from across Washington and Idaho. On Friday, Mark Meckler gave an inspiring keynote address on the true meaning of self-governance, and the foresight the founding fathers exhibited by leaving the American people with Article V—the ultimate protector of freedom. I hosted an explanatory Convention of States workshop on Saturday, which was warmly received. Several other groups were represented at the Summit. All of them were headed by motivated individuals who work tirelessly to protect the freedom of future generations. These are citizens who have dedicated significant portions of their time and resources because they recognized a problem. When they saw that problem, they didn’t complain. They didn’t fuss. They took action. These are the people who will save our country. Are you one of them?
